Aliran Tenaga Dalam

Rich and Ivonne share their knowledge about Kejawen, the Javanese mysticism. Through their 30 years of experience, teaching this intangible, Javanese heritage with their orginazition Stichting Aliran, they help people to strengthen their tenaga dalam. Here they share their knowledge with us.

Some facts about Kejawen

  • In Kejawen, personal rituals and reading signs from dreams or nature are essential. Life is lived in close connection with the cosmos, ancestral spirits, and the unseen world. Time is not linear, but a dance between the visible and invisible realms.

  • Kejawen is not an organized religion, it’s a way of life deeply rooted in Javanese culture. It blends elements of Hinduism, Buddhism, animism, and Sufism (Islamic mysticism), focusing on inner harmony, connection with nature, and living in balance.

  • Kejawen places great importance on tutur (spoken wisdom) and tapa (intentional silence). Words carry energetic weight and are used sparingly, with care and intention. Silence is equally honored, it’s seen as a powerful space for receiving inner guidance and aligning with cosmic truth.

Now let’s get into the details

Tenaga dalam, known as inner strength.

Tenaga Dalam is the Javanese concept of inner energy or inner power, a subtle life force cultivated through breath, focus, and spiritual practice. It’s believed to strengthen the body, sharpen intuition, and connect a person to the unseen energetic world.
